RUMONGE, Oct 7 (ABP) – The Head of State, Evariste Ndayishimiye, officially presented the new administrator of Rumonge commune on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the Rumonge commune stadium.

In his welcome speech, the governor of Burunga province, Parfait Mboninyibuka, stated that all communes in the province are currently calm. He expressed regret that the development of Rumonge commune had not progressed well in past years, despite its potential. He emphasized that the eagerness to hold administrative positions was at the root of conflicts among certain individuals, leading to disorganization in development projects.

He took the opportunity to thank the government for considering the rehabilitation of National Road 16 (RN16), while also advocating for the resumption of rehabilitation works on RN3.

In his address, the Head of State gave advice to both the population and administrative leaders. According to the President, working in synergy is the only effective way to achieve development. He urged the population to follow their leaders, indicating that they symbolize well-organized synergy. Administrative leaders, he said, should be viewed as commanders of the people’s collective effort in the struggle for development.

The President warned that the administrator, presented publicly, could be subject to temptation at any moment. He advised the new leader to resist all forms of temptation, especially since Rumonge is a strategic hub for trade. The commune administrator was primarily tasked with fighting fraud occurring via lake routes. Otherwise, the commune’s potential would serve no purpose for national development.

He also called on the administrator to always stay close to the population in order to address their concerns.

In the agricultural sector, the President advised farmers to combine the cultivation of patchouli with oil palm. According to the Head of State, this method will allow farmers to maximize land use and also generate manure.
