Burundi's new Chief Justice Gamaliel Nkurunziza

GITEGA, November 20th (ABP) – The new Chief Justice of Burundi, Ambassador Gamaliel Nkurunziza, took the oath in the morning of Tuesday, November 19, 2024, before the President of the Republic Evariste Ndayishimiye at the presidential palace in Gitega (political capital and center of Burundi).

He swore as follows: “Before Almighty God, I, Amb. Nkurunziza Gamaliel, Chief Justice, swear to respect the Constitution and the laws of the Republic, to behave with probity, dignity, loyalty and to be respectful of the rights of all parties and professional secrecy”.

Note that the Minister in charge of Justice, Mrs. Domine Banyankimbona, the President of the Constitutional Court, Valentin Bagorikunda, members of the Supreme Court and others, took part in those ceremonies.
