BUBANZA, April 14 (ABP) – Various heads of departments and services of Bubanza commune (north-west of Burundi) are called upon to prioritize development and the well-being of the people. This call was made to them on Friday, April 10, 2026, by the communal administrator Sabbas Niyokindi, during a meeting to evaluate the third quarter, a check on site by ABP has revealed.

Some of the achievements of these different communal departments during the third quar  ter that were mentioned include 6 mining sites identified, 21 drinking water sources constructed and rehabilitated, 400 sheets of roofing materials allocated to schools, and 38 tons of selected seeds distributed. He also cited the identification and preparation of marshlands to be exploited during the 2026 C cropping season, as well as the identification of state-owned land.

There was also capacity building for civil registry agents in 4 zones, among other activities. As for the obstacles to the proper implementation of their mandates, participants pointed out the lack of means of transport, especially since 90% of the work and activities take place in the field. Other constraints mentioned include insufficient equipment and staff, as well as damaged roads and bridges, which make field visits difficult.

Before closing, the administrator Sabbas Niyokindi urged them to adopt a shared vision for the development of the commune and its inhabitants. He promised his personal involvement in trying to find solutions to all these constraints.
