MPANDA, Sept 30 (ABP) – The Ombudsman of Burundi, Aimée Laurentine Kanyana, joined the residents of Ruce zone in Mpanda commune (Northwest of the country) on Saturday, September 27, as part of community development work dedicated to the construction of a health center in Ruce village.
This project is a local initiative, organized by the residents themselves, who acquired land and launched the construction. One of the members of parliament elected in the Bujumbura constituency and native of Mpanda commune, Olivier Suguru, supported the effort by donating roofing sheets. According to some residents, the construction of this health center is an urgent response, as the nearest health facility is about 4 kilometers away.
In her speech, Ombudsman Aimée Laurentine Kanyana urged the people of Ruce to take advantage of the restored peace to boost production. She also emphasized the importance of respecting laws and authorities, while calling on those in leadership to remain attentive to citizens’ concerns. She concluded appealing for the preservation of peace and security.
It is worth noting that the Ombudsman was accompanied by the provincial secretary of the CNDD-FDD party, some parliamentarians elected in the Bujumbura constituency, the governor of Bujumbura province, and several senior officials native to Mpanda commune.
