New Chancay Port will help Peruvian businesses reduce transit time

November 15th (AMSP/CGTN) – – Peruvian businesses are thrilled about the new Chancay Port. Sea freight time from the Chancay Port to Asia will be slashed from 45 days to just 23 days.

With shorter transit times and lower logistics costs, companies like Warmpaca can get popular Peruvian products, like adorable alpaca dolls, to Chinese customers much faster.

” We are two Peruvian and two Chinese girls. We got together eight years ago and we decided to sell this kind of products. We have two ways of shipping our products by sea or by air. By air is obviously much more faster, but it’s very expensive. And by ship, at the moment it takes around 60 days the transit time. So it’s a lot. But now with a new port of Chancay, this will help us so much reduce our transit time and obviously the expense for the flight cost, ” Warmpaca’s Founder Ysabel Zea pointed out.

” So we’re thrilled, we’re very excited that the Chinese government did this investment in Peru. I think China believes in us, believes in what we have, in the goods that we can offer your country. I only see a better future for both of us, ” she told CGTN.
