NGOZI, February 14th (ABP) – The President of the Republic of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimiye, on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 officially introduced the new governor of the Ngozi province to the population, Major General of Police Léonidas Ndaruzaniye.
The related ceremonies took place at the football field of the headquarters of the Marangara commune.
In his speech for the occasion, President Ndayishimiye first explained what leadership is. He said that a leader must symbolize unity; likewise, the governor of a province must symbolize unity at the level of their province.
He also congratulated the outgoing governor for his achievements. He worked closely with the justice sector to ensure that there is a good jurisdiction in the province, the Head of State said with joy, adding that he has confidence in him. He did not fail to wish him every success in his new functions.
He also congratulated the population of Ngozi for having taken the lead in revitalizing the avocado sector. He asked them to be extra vigilant to safeguard peace and tighten security, and not to listen to rumors, but rather to engage in development activities to increase production.
Taking the floor, the incoming governor promised that unity, peace and security will be the priorities during the exercise of his functions.
It’s worth noting that the official presentation festivities were closed with a prayer to this new governor so that he may spared from the evil in his new functions.
