CANKUZO, September 2 (ABP) – The president of the Republic of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimiye, proceeded on Monday, September 1, 2025, at the Cankuzo stadium, with the official presentation of the governor of Buhumuza province and the administrator of Cankuzo commune. In his speech, President Ndayishimiye congratulated the province for having already established its development plan.
According to Mr. Ndayishimiye, Burundi is now in an era of hope, as the budgets used for the implementation of development projects will henceforth be decentralized to the provinces. It is within this framework that the government has introduced the new administrative division. He praised the steps already taken by the youth toward development. It is therefore time, according to President Ndayishimiye, to work diligently in support of Vision 2040-2060. He used this opportunity to call on the new leaders to work for the well-being of the population and to serve as models for development.
Evariste Ndayishimiye also urged the entire population of Buhumuza to unite for the development of the province, since resources such as arable land, minerals, and many other development opportunities are already available. Evariste Ndayishimiye expressed the wish that all provinces engage in competition for development
