MURAMVYA, April 28 (ABP) – Mock exams were organized over three days in several schools, notably at ECOFO Muramvya II, Masango, Karubabi Harvest School, and Kabonono, to prepare students for national examinations, ABP observed.
These tests mainly concern 9th-grade basic education students, candidates for the national exam granting access to post-basic education. In most of the schools visited, the curricula are almost completed. Only Karubabi Harvest School is slightly behind in science and technology, due to a shortage of teachers, according to the head of studies.
At the same time, the communal directorate of education in Muramvya also organized mock exams for students in the 3rd year of post-basic education, who are preparing for the state exams that provide access to university.
According to the communal director of education, Rémy Habonimana, the curricula for this level are not yet fully covered, with completion scheduled for the end of May.
After visiting several institutions, he indicated that the exams generally went well, both in the schools visited and in those monitored by his delegates at the zone level.
As part of the ongoing preparations, a “diocesan test” is scheduled from May 6 to 8, 2026. Usually reserved for Catholic-convention schools, this test will this time be extended to all institutions, in order to harmonize students’ level of preparation.
The communal director called on teachers to continue their efforts in supervising students, while inviting the latter to work calmly. He also urged parents to give more time and attention to candidates as the exams approach.
