RUTANA, February 12th (ABP) – Maize production for crop season A will be very satisfactory in Rutana province, compared to last year. This was stated by Pierre Claver Bagorikunda, director of the provincial Bureau of environment, agriculture and livestock (BPEAE) in Rutana province, on Monday, February 10, 2025, during an interview with local media.
While some storage granaries still contain maize purchased by the National Agency for Food Security Stock Management (ANAGESSA), and a new production will soon be available, Bagorikunda said that a sale of these stocks is underway.
He expressed the hope that these stocks will be exhausted before the start of purchases for the new maize harvest. In the event that quantities of maize remain in the sheds at the time of the said purchase, he indicated that the office under his responsibility will collaborate with the administration to find a solution to facilitate the sale of the production for farmers.
