The President of the Senate addresses leaders from all sectors of the country's life

GITEGA, December 13th (ABP) – On Thursday December 12, 2024, the President of the Burundian Senate, Emmanuel Sinzohagera, graced with his presence the two-day teachings on leadership organized in Gitega (political capital and center of Burundi) by International Christian Ministries “ICM” through its Global Leardership Summit “GLS” program for leaders from all sectors of life in the country, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

The teachings were organized under the theme: “You are also involved in building the desired country” (“Nawe urafise uruhara mu kwubaka Uburundi twipfuza”) in Kirundi. Those teachings are based on different themes, namely the importance of giving body and soul to work, the importance of maintaining confidence, the consequences of poor service on the country’s development, and others.

In his speech, Sinzohagera emphasised that leadership is the pillar of development. He also pointed out that leadership begins with the individual, before taking responsibility in the respective departments. He called on leaders in particular and Burundians in general to maintain their confidence and use their responsibilities to bring about positive change in society in order to achieve the vision of Burundi as an emerging country by 2040 and a developed country by 2060.

“All Burundians need to change their mentality and be good leaders, characterized by confidence in everything they do. We want Burundi to have a population characterized by confidence, and leaders who defend the public good rather than putting their own interests first”, he explained.

In his welcome address, the representative of International Christian Ministries, Isaïe Nshimirimana, pointed out that over 30,000 people had already received such teachings since the beginning of that year. Those are the leaders and student leaders of tomorrow. He pointed out that they want all Burundians to receive those teachings, so that together they can develop the country and achieve the national vision.
