BUJUMBURA, April 2nd (ABP) – Jules Niyongabo, an independent candidate in the 2025 legislative elections, held a press conference on Friday 28 March 2025 to talk about his candidacy and the broad outlines of his political programme.
In his statement, Niyongabo said that his candidacy was not just a personal ambition, but an expression of a deep commitment to the country, where every citizen, whatever their origin, aspires to a better future. Together we have built a rich and prosperous Burundi”, he said.
Niyongabo explained that that commitment rests on three fundamental pillars, namely the establishment of a policy based on truth and transparency, the general interest and guaranteeing the distribution of national resources in order to build an inclusive economy.
That is his hobbyhorse for responding to social and economic challenges by building a policy of justice, work and solidarity, he said.
The independent candidate added that it was necessary to strengthen justice, pointing out that during the legislative elections in 2025, all Burundians are called upon to promote reconciliation, respect and radical change.
