For over a decade, this building—part office tower, part hotel, become a symbol of friendship between China and Kazakhstan. So, what do locals think about China? Many people here don’t speak English, but I was so lucky to find someone who speaks…Chinese.
My name is Daoshan. I really love the Chinese language. You speak so well. I actually love Chinese culture. I just love the painting art. I would like to go to Xi’an, Beijing,Shanghai. Welcome to China someday. And this is a small gift for you. This is a clip you can keep it like everywhere you want. That’s so cute. Thank you so much.
For some, we relied on translation. “I really like the Chinese people. They’re hardworking and smart.
I also love the architecture and design there. China left a deep impression on me,” says a local resident.
“I work in China company”. How do you feel about it? “It’s good conditions for work. Do you like Chinese food?Unfortunately no,I can’t eat too spice for me,” a local resident says.
“I always use Chinese products. All of my clothes are made in China,” the local resident reveals.
“I work closely with Chinese colleagues. So I know well about Chinese people,” a local resident told the reporter. Behind the scene: I met a Chinese person working here helped me translate. Hope my translation helps. You’re doing such a great job, thank you! This is a gift for you.
In just one day, on the same street, I met Kazakhs who speak Chinese, work for Chinese companies, or are planning to visit China. It made me believe that the friendship between China and Kazakhstan isn’t just getting closer — it’s turning into something lasting, and full of shared hopes for the future.
