July 3rd (AMSP/CGTN) – – As the 17th BRICS summit approaches, an online initiative titled “Global Voices for BRICS Visions in Light and Lens” has been launched to capture the diverse experiences of individuals across BRICS nations. In this video, a Brazilian YouTuber shares her unplanned journey to China that has led her down a number of entrepreneurial paths.
Hi, I’m Cymye from Brazil.
I came to China in 2010, not by plan but by destiny.
From the moment I arrived in Shenzhen, I fell in love with the city.
I knew I wanted to stay here as long as I could.
And over the years, I have explored so many paths.
I opened a business helping people buy products from China.
I also worked in e-commerce.
I even tried to run a restaurant.
My journey here has been full of attempts and failures, but also success.
Of course, everything has been a valuable lesson.
At one point, I was preparing to return to Brazil.
But I had a dream.
I wanted to create a channel showing China especially for Portuguese speakers because there is a lot of content in English, but there’s not so much in Portuguese.
So I gave myself one year to try, and if the channel worked, I would stay.
And here I am.
It’s still here in China.
Today I run three channels:
One channel in Portuguese for tech.
One in English for tech.
And one in Portuguese, a Vlog showing my life here in China.
With the channel, I help companies promote their products and factories.
For the Vlog, I show people’s real life and stories here in China.
The culture, the people, the places.
Everything that I see, you can see on my channel.
Becoming a content creator has allowed me to travel to so many places, explore ancient city traditions, and witness how China balances a rich culture with rapid innovation and sustainability.
It makes me very happy to see China and Brazil strengthening their ties.
I believe both countries have a lot of gain through this collaboration.
