CIBITOKE, January 20th (ABP) – The Associated Family of Youth for the Promotion of Self-Creation of Employment in Burundi (FAJPACEBU) organized on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the headquarters of Mugina district in Cibitoke province, an awareness-raising activity for the grassroots administration and the population, on the fight against the activities of marketing money in fraudulent pyramid forms or through groups commonly called Savings and Internal Lending Communities (SILC), Vicoba, Tontines, which work in violation of the regulations in force.
The day’s activities began with community sanitation work around the modern market of Nyeshenza, before gathering inside the said market where the day’s ceremonies took place, which ended with the inauguration of GFC-Microfinance. For the deputy legal representative of FAJPACEBU, Zéphyrin Nahimana, since November 11, 2024, FAJPACEBU has received authorization from the BRB as a supervisor of savings and loan groups, and GFC-Ndi ku kivi Microfinance is the first birth of this sponsorship.
He called on all those who still adhere to the marketing of money in fraudulent pyramid forms to comply with the regulations in this area. It is important to be careful and curious to invest in a business or follow an investment opportunity. Vigilance is required, because big returns without financial risks do not exist.
For this reason, Mr. Nahimana calls on grassroots administrative officials to raise awareness among their constituents to get rid of those groups that work in violation of the regulations in force. Note that the chosen theme stipulates to save, to give loans in unity, with love and honesty, towards the vision of an emerging Burundi by 2040, and developed country in 2060.
