MUKAZA, Feb 24 (ABP) – The Bene Samuragwa team joined the residents of Mukaza commune on Saturday, February 21, 2026, to take part in community work consisting of mixing cement and gravel, as well as paving the site for the new administrative building of Mukaza commune.

The national chairperson of the team, Mélance Niyimbona, said they came with a fund of 31.5 million BIF intended for the purchase of 700 bags of cement. He noted that their contribution aims to support this development project.

He took the opportunity to call on all Burundians to foster a spirit of support for community development initiatives in order to achieve the 2040-2060 vision.

The administrator of Mukaza commune, Aline Bigirimana, warmly praised this contribution, as well as those from businesses, hotels, banks, and citizens. She reminded that the country is built by its own citizens and urged the population to strengthen solidarity for development, in line with the guidance of the Head of State, to improve the living conditions of families and the country.

For her part, the Ombudsman of Burundi, Aimée Laurentine Kanyana, thanked the participants in the community work, particularly the Bene Samuragwa group, for their remarkable contribution. She noted that the communal building belongs to the population since it will serve to improve their daily services, and therefore everyone’s contribution is necessary for the building to be completed no later than May 2026.

Note that before this community work, the “Bene Samuragwa” Association visited the Kamenge Popular Hospital, where it paid hospitalization fees totaling 5 million BIF for four underprivileged people.
