NGOZI, April 13 (ABP) – A two-day workshop organized for communal service representatives and provincial directors of Butanyerera was concluded on Thursday, April 9, 2026. The workshop aimed to strengthen their capacities in public management.
In his closing speech, the Prime Minister, Nestor Ntahontuye, stated that those trainings were part of the national development program aligned with the 2040-2060 vision. He specified that the reforms undertaken are based in particular on improved public financial management and administrative decentralization. He called on participants to take ownership of these changes by putting into practice the program-based budgeting approach and results-based management, in order to optimize the use of public resources and ensure sustainable actions. He also reminded them of their key role in national development, urging them to master implementation mechanisms to achieve the set objectives.

Among the concerns raised were the lack of office equipment, insufficient means of transport, as well as salary blockages linked to changes in positions and original ministries.
In response, the Prime Minister reassured that those issues are being taken into account in ongoing efforts to improve the functioning of public services. He also mentioned the gradual availability of operational resources and the processing of salary arrears, before urging participants to apply the knowledge acquired in order to achieve concrete results.
