November 15th (AMSP/CGTN) – – Bilateral trade between China and Peru has seen substantial growth this year, continuing a trend of double-digit annual increases over the past several years.
For the last decade, China has consistently been Peru’s largest trading partner, serving as both the top source of imports and the primary destination for exports. Peru ranks as China’s second-largest investment destination in Latin America during this period.
Since 2016, bilateral trade has grown at an average annual rate of 14.6 percent, surpassing the ten trillion yuan mark for the first time.
From January to October of this year, bilateral trade reached 254.6 billion yuan, about 35.37 billion U.S. dollars, reflecting a 16.8 percent increase compared to the previous year.
Popular Chinese products among Peruvians include cars, cell phones, and home appliances, with mechanical and electrical goods increasingly dominating China’s exports to Peru.
