KAYANZA, April 22nd (ABP) – As the national exam is scheduled to take place during the last two weeks of May, a period that coincides with the election campaigns, the provincial director of education in Kayanza (north), Juvénal Mbonihankuye, urges candidates not to be distracted by the electoral campaign. Instead, they should focus on reviewing the material learned in class and practice exams so that they too can one day be elected.
Regarding preparations, he is pleased that the curriculum has already been completed in some schools, and that the remaining ones are expected to finish before the end of April, learned ABP during an interview with Mbonihankuye.
According to him, preparations for the 9th grade national exam, which grants access to post-basic education, are going well. “The curricula of the courses to be seated for in that exam have been completed in some schools, while others are expected to complete them before the end of that month,” he said, noting that 4,945 candidates are expected, including 3,130 girls and 1,815 boys.
Since the exam will take place during the campaign period for communal council and legislative elections, the same education official in Kayanza is urging 9th-grade students not to be distracted during that crucial time for the country, but instead to concentrate on their lessons so that they may one day be elected to lead various institutions after completing their studies. “Be aware that you will not be elected as an administrator, a communal council member, or a deputy,” he told them, encouraging them to continue their education.
In order for Kayanza educational province to earn top ranks in that exam, Mbonihankuye suggests that students thoroughly review the material learned in class and the exercises given by their teachers. As for the teachers, he recommends them to stay close to the students, especially when it comes to material review, exercises, or tests that seem difficult. Parents, for their part, are urged to allow sufficient time for their children to revise, so that no student blames their parents for their failure.
