MAKAMBA, April 22nd (ABP) – The governor of Makamba province (southern Burundi), Tantine Ncutinamagara, gathered the traders operating in the province to remind them to comply with set prices and with the decisions related to their business, a check on site by ABP has revealed.
Ncutinamagara pointed out that each trader or seller is required to respect the prices as fixed by the relevant authorities. Referring to those speculating on the prices of BRARUDI products, she stated that anyone who violates that measure will be removed from the list of traders supplied at BRARUDI product depots and will see their pubs closed.
She asked them to unite so as to build factories, and even high-standard hotels, to restore the image of the provincial capital. “We do not live in isolation and that’s why, in order to develop, we must work in synergy.”
The traders who spoke brought up the issue of road rehabilitation. Here, the governor asked them to protect the existing infrastructure by refraining from farming within the road reserves and by protecting the watershed areas. “By protecting those watershed areas, we will prevent potential landslides that could make some roads impassable,” she explained.
