NGOZI, November 15th (ABP) – Educated young people in the Busiga commune are delighted with the contribution made by the Young People’s Investment Bank (BIJE) to the realization of youth projects.
Claude Nkurunziza, head of the young people supervised by the PAEEJ in the Busiga commune, says that the young people of that commune are proud of the financing already granted by the BIJE, to implement their businesses.
According to that young person, that funding has enabled their cooperative to carry out an intensive pig-breeding project, manufacture and market feed for pigs, and carry out agricultural activities. Dozens of young people, both educated and uneducated, are regularly employed and receive sufficient income to keep their households running.
Annonciate Niyonkuru is also a young technical humanities graduate. When she couldn’t find a job, she decided to set up a sewing workshop in Rukeco. Thanks to a loan from PAEEJ, the workshop employs three paid girls. Annonciate Niyonkuru asserts that the workshop was able to take care of itself to pay off the loan. She is very satisfied with the income generated by the workshop, which enables her to support her family of a father, a mother and their two children.
Claude Nkurunziza appeals to other young people, especially the well-educated, who are reluctant to take the plunge into entrepreneurship. According to that young man, all they need to do is design a viable project and submit it to BIJE, which will take care of the financing.
In 2023, the Young People’s Investment Bank opened a branch in Ngozi to serve the northern provinces of Ngozi, Kayanza, Kirundo and Muyinga. That is a great facility for young people, who no longer need to travel to Gitega to follow up their loan applications.
