Burundi Prime Minister returned from Kenya

BUJUMBURA, August 30th (ABP) – Burundi Prime Minister, Mr. Gervais Ndirakobuca, returned to the country on Thursday 29 August 2024 from Nairobi in the Republic of Kenya, where he had represented the President of the Republic, Mr Evariste Ndayishimiye, at the ceremonies for the official launch of the Kenyan candidate Raila Odinga at the head of the African Union (AU) Commission.

In an interview given to the press on his arrival, Mr. Ndirakobuca said that the ceremonies were attended by various heads of state and government from the member countries of the East African Community (EAC), including the presidents of Southern Sudan, Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya. The former presidents of Tanzania and Nigeria were also present at those ceremonies, he added.

In his plans for society, Raila Odinga has shown that he is ready to give his all to represent the AU, stressing that if he is elected to head that organization, he will do everything possible to eradicate all the problems facing Africa and help it to achieve its vision 2063. Mr Ndirakobuca stressed that Raila Odinga has also promised to fight poverty and preserve peace and security in all African countries, to renew the ties of cooperation that exist between African countries and to promote the development of Africa.
