December 16th (AMSP/CGTN) – – Beijing has urged Washington to stop arming Taiwan, after the region received 38 tanks from the United States.
“We urge the US to abide by the One-China principle and the three Sino-US joint communiqués, especially the provisions of the August 17 Communiqué, stop arming Taiwan, and stop condoning and supporting Taiwan independence forces in their pursuit of independence through force. The Taiwan authorities’ attempt to seek independence through force and foreign help is doomed to fail. China will firmly defend its national sovereignty, security and territorial integrity,” Lin Jian, Spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
