GITEGA, November 26th (ABP) – The Alliance Party for Peace, Democracy and Reconciliation “APDR” organized, on Saturday, November 23, 2024, in Gitega (political capital and center of Burundi), a meeting for the leaders of the party in the provinces of Gitega, Muramvya, Mwaro, Karusi of the new expanded Gitega province and those of the provinces of Kayanza and Cankuzo, with a view to readjusting the strategic plan and political programme of the party, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.
The leader of the party, Mr. Gabriel Banzawitonde, said that the APDR party is ready to run in the 2025 and 2027 elections and win them. According to him, the party has developed 5 key points that it will strengthen if it wins the elections, in order to ensure the development of the country.
These include, among others, a project aimed at developing the energy sector, establishing fair justice, quality education, modern agriculture in order to ensure a balanced diet for families.
To achieve this, Mr. Banzawitonde called on those party leaders to present their candidacies for the position of deputies, senators and district councilors to the CECI and CEPI. He told them that the party will pay their guarantee amounting to BIF 18,400,000.
He called on the population in general and the youth in particular to remain calm and serene before, during and after the elections and to continue going about daily income-generating activities because, he added, after the elections, life goes on. He also called on them to be clear-sighted in analyzing the programmes of the different political parties, in order to know which party they can vote for. Mr. Banzawitonde invited the activists of the APDR party not to engage in provocation of members of other political parties, but to coexist well with them.
