BUJUMBURA, June 12 (ABP) – The National Assembly met on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at the Kigobe Parliamentary House to review and adopt the activity calendar for the ordinary parliamentary session of April 2025, covering the period from June 10 to June 23, 2025.
According to the Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament Daniel Gélase Ndabirabe, who presented the calendar, a plenary session will take place on Monday, June 16, 2025, where the final audit report on the management of the General Directorate of Prison Affairs (DGAP) for the Gitega and Bururi cases will be presented. On the same day, there will also be oral questions with debate addressed to the Minister of Justice regarding the aforementioned report.
On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, there will be a presentation of the final audit report on the management of the Educational Production Office (RPP) and oral questions with debate directed at the Minister of Education on both the report and the functioning of the Rundi Academy.
On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, there will be oral questions with debate addressed to the ministers of environment, agriculture, livestock, commerce, transport, industry, and tourism concerning the implementation of the recommendations made by the National Assembly during the plenary session of February 27, 2025, on the management of maize harvests by the National Agency for the Management of Food Security Stocks (ANAGESSA).
On Thursday, June 19, 2025, there will be a plenary session for the presentation of the final audit reports on the management of various hospitals: Bururi Hospital, Natwe Turashoboye Hospital in Karusi, hospital of the Kibumbu health district, and the hospital of the Makamba health district. On the same day, there will also be oral questions with debate addressed to the Minister of public health and the fight against HIV/AIDS.
The Speaker of the lower house of parliament further specified that on Friday, June 20, 2025, there will be oral questions addressed to the minister of water, energy, and mines regarding the follow-up on the recommendations made by the National Assembly during the plenary session of December 28, 2023. There will also be comments on the report from the monetary policy committee of the Bank of the Republic of Burundi (BRB) for the 4th quarter of 2024.
After analysis, the proposed calendar was adopted.
