BUJUMBURA, October 18th (ABP) – Prime Minister Gervais Ndirakobuca took off on Wednesday 16 October 2024 for Malabo, where he went to represent the Head of State at the 25th ordinary session of the Heads of State and Government of the member states of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS).

Prime Minister Ndirakobuca pointed out that that session is of vital importance for ECCAS member countries in general, and Burundi in particular, as they will be discussing issues such as peace and security within the community’s member countries, given that security is one of the cornerstones of the charter governing ECCAS.

Ndirakobuca also announced that the heads of the member states’ delegations would be taking stock of the regulatory texts governing the community. In that respect, certain texts are due to be improved, notably those governing decision-making positions and those relating to customs regulations (taxes and duties) between member countries.
