KAYANZA May 25th (ABP) – The Burundi Christian Youth Supervision Committee (CEJCB) organized on Saturday May 22, 2021, in Butaganzwa commune of Kayanza province (northern Burundi), a prayer of thanksgiving and invocation of divine blessings for the country. That prayer saw the presence of young people, administrative officials and faith leaders, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

According to the regional representative within the CEJCB, Mr. Apollinaire Habimana, the themes chosen for the prayer were, among others, “A transformed person is the pillar of the development and stability of the country”, “Faith without work is a dead faith and the love of the country is a gift from the Lord”. For him, that prayer session of thanksgiving and invocation of divine blessings for the country is the second after the one organized by the same committee during the pre-election period of 2020.

Mr. Habimana said that the CEJCB must give glory to God for the good conduct of the recent elections because, according to him, this was not the same case in the past years.

Based on the theme stipulating that love for the country is a gift from the Lord, the national assistant within the CEJCB, Bishop André Florian Ndabarushimana, in turn, clarified that the country takes precedence over anything else and that young people must be characterized by a patriotic spirit.

Taking the floor, the communal administrator of Butaganzwa, Mrs. Janvière Kanyana, called on young people to roll up their sleeves, to do battle with idleness, to avoid being confused by anyone, especially by not lending not attentive ears to detractors. To religious denominations and churches, she recommended supervising young people through self-development work.

At the time when the pupils of the basic school in class 9 were preparing to take the national test competition giving them access to post-basic education, the same communal administrative authority urged those concerned to seriously revise the lessons taken in classes and not to be tempted by cheating or neglect during the period of that competition.
