BUJUMBURA May 25th (ABP) – The First Lady of Burundi, Mrs. Angéline Ndayishimiye, at the same time Chairperson of the OPDAD, received in audience on Monday, May 24, 2021, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Mrs. Zhao Jiangping, a check by ABP revealed.
In an interview with the press at the end of the audience, the First Lady of Burundi said that they discussed the activities of the First Lady in general and those of the OPDAD in particular.
As she is new to her job, Mrs. Zhao Jiangping came to inquire about the situation so that she can continue where her predecessor left off, she added.
She also pointed out that the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China has accepted that she will continue to support the activities of OPDAD and those of the Bonne Action Foundation Umugiraneza. She also promised to strengthen cooperation as the two countries establish good relations.
As for Mrs. Zhao Jiangping, she said that they had a very friendly conversation and that they spoke of the cooperation projects they have already implemented in Burundi, especially with regard to the National Development Program (PND).
She said China has achieved victory in the fight against poverty, adding that women play an important role in economic development. It is for that reason that they shared the consensus to expand cooperation projects to help vulnerable people and improve the health of mothers and children. Abp/dnt
