BUJUMBURA, January 15th (ABP) – Online media plays a major role in sustainable development. This was announced on Friday, January 10, 2025 by Odette Kwizerimana, a student at the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS), who is one of those who follow social media, during an interview with a check by ABP.
In addition to her academic activity, this young student at the ENS practices pig farming. She explained that she was encouraged by online social media. Kwizerimana got information about the maintenance of the pigsty, when she was consulting online social media. With only this information, she testifies that she made the decision to engage in pig farming. As she confided to the check by ABP, she currently raises 2 pigs. In addition to livestock, she has engaged in modern agriculture. She currently maintains a cassava field, always inspired by the information she has collected from social media.
Kwizerimana added that the same social media has allowed her to prevent herself from diseases including MPOX and have provided her with useful information in the context of family planning. Kwizerimana encourages others, especially young people, to be familiar with the use of social media, but to use them wisely by drawing useful information that allows them to achieve sustainable development.
