KAYANZA, January 7th (ABP) – The people of Kayanza province (north) are called upon not to be distracted by the upcoming elections, but rather to focus on work and on safeguarding peace and security.
That appeal was made on Sunday by the Governor of Kayanza, Colonel Rémy Cishahayo, after the inauguration of various meeting rooms and a grandstand belonging to the Pentecost church in Maramvya.
On that occasion, Governor Cishahayo recalled that Burundi has already entered a crucial election period and called on the population to respond massively, while ensuring that peace and security are safeguarded.
At the same time, the provincial authority in Kayanza urged his constituents to change their living conditions, in particular by replacing roof tiles with sheet metal and cementing their homes.
For his part, the first pastor of the Pentecostal church of Maramvya, Jacques Banigwa, invited the faithful of the said church to do away with laziness, especially by getting down to the work of self-development, in particular, and the development of the country in general.
