December 26th (AMSP/CGTN) – – On Wednesday, the Chinese mainland criticized the Democratic Progressive Party authorities in Taiwan for saying over and over again that the mainland is trying to use the “United Front” to deal with relations between the Mainland and Taiwan.

Chen Binhua, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, asked why families can’t talk and communicate with each other.

He indicated that the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities and the separatists in Taiwan constantly attempt to stigmatize the “United Front”, the mainland’s efforts to benefit people and promote cross-Strait exchanges.

“I have already clarified the original meaning of the “United front” and today I would like to elaborate further. In popular terms, the “United Front” means to make friends and engage in unity. Taiwan compatriots are our relatives, our families. It is completely right and proper for us to communicate, to strengthen solidarity, and to bring benefits for them. The DPP authorities’ conspiracy theory on the ‘United Front’ fully exposes its dark psychology and sinister intentions,” he said.
