CIBITOKE, September 27th (ABP) – The Ministry of Communication, Information Technology and Media in collaboration with the association “Charité sans frontières” (CSF) organized from September 24 to 26, 2024, in the headquarters of Cibitoke province, a training of journalists on digital security.

According to the head of cooperation and partnership at the ministry, Olivier Kadodwa, journalists handle a lot of sensitive information that must be secured against loss or leaks.

The training on digital security will allow them to protect their information and protect themselves online, he said. Cyber ​​security aims to protect sources from hacking. It involves the protection of computer systems, data, applications and online activities.

That official of the Ministry responsible for Communication spoke about the basic rules for digital security including, password management; backups; device updates; anti-viruses; avoiding public or unknown WIFI networks, to name but a few.

For this reason, cybercriminals launch attacks for unauthorized access to computer systems, modify, manipulate or steal data, etc. The trainer also explained the possible online threats, such as cyber harassment; cyber espionage; violation of confidentiality, disclosure of personal information; and denial of service attacks against websites. He did not forget to train on how to remove the malicious tool; censorship and blocking; and the risks related to sources.
