12 new ambassadors have presented their letters credential to the President of the Republic

The Head of State receives the new French ambassador to Burundi

BUJUMBURA, October 23rd (ABP) – Burundian Head of State, Evariste Ndayishimiye received in audience, on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, 12 extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors newly accredited to Burundi. They are, respectively, Vu Thanh Huyen, ambassador of Vietnam based in Dar-es Salam, Gentiana Serbu, ambassador of Romania based in Nairobi, Sabah Fedel, ambassador of Algeria based in Bujumbura, Danjela Cubrilo Martic, ambassador of Serbia based in Nairobi.

Other new ambassadors include Sekou Alhssane Camara of Guinea based in Kinshasa, Fatima Yesenia Fernandez Jaurez of Venezuela based in Harare, Zimbabwe, Sébastien Minot of France based in Bujumbura, Companera Nadeska Imaracuthbert Carlson of Nicaragua based in Dar-es Salaam, Fahad Rashid Saqr Al Muraikhi of Qatar based in Dar Es Salaam.

The Head of State also received the new ambassadors, Anouar Ben Youssef of Tunisia based in Nairobi, Einat Weiss of Israel based in Kigali and Nicolas Brennan of Ireland based in Dar Es Salaam.

In an interview with the press after the audiences, Rosine Guilene Gatoni, spokesperson for the President, said that all those ambassadors had come with a common goal, namely to present their letters of credence. She added that those letters credential were also accompanied by greetings from their respective heads of state.

Gatoni stressed that during their discussions, all the ambassadors expressed their common ambitions for Burundi and their respective countries, as well as for the strengthening of bilateral relations and cooperation that already exist between Burundi and all those countries.

She added that the head of state congratulated them on their new functions and reiterated his commitment to strengthening bilateral ties in terms of cooperation.

It is worth noting that during those audiences, President Ndayishimiye took the opportunity to share with them Burundi’s ambitions towards its 2040-2060 vision, according to Ms. Gatoni.
